This project focuses on understanding the role of gut epithelial cells in immune responses related to Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). By utilizing human intestinal organoids, it aims to investigate how these cells react to bacterial infections and their implications for IBD.
As the first line of defense against intestinal pathogens, gut epithelial cells are an essential part of the immune system.
