This project seeks to identify genetic biomarkers to personalize epilepsy treatment and improve patient outcomes. By analyzing genome data, it aims to enhance the effectiveness of existing medications and discover new therapeutic targets.
The purpose of the project is to identify genome-based biomarkers for use in clinical practice to individualise treatment of epilepsy, and stratify patients for clinical trials, aiming to avoid chronicity, prevent relapse and reduce adverse drug reactions (ADRs).The need for improved treatments in epilepsy is undoubted.
