The MarineBiotech project aims to explore and utilize Europe's marine ecosystems and organisms through marine biotechnology. It focuses on addressing societal challenges such as environmental degradation and sustainable food and energy supplies by enhancing coordination among research initiatives.
The ERA-NET MarineBiotech (ERA-MBT) recognises that Europe’s marine ecosystems and organisms are largely unexplored, understudied and underutilized, in spite of Europe’s access to an extensive and diverse set of marine ecosystems, supporting an enormous marine biodiversity.
