During Spain's presidency of the European Council, this project emphasizes the importance of embedding the European Research Area in society. It aims to address societal challenges through collaboration among public and private sectors and to engage young researchers in shaping future research policies.
In the first half of 2010, Spain takes over the European Council presidency.
The Spanish presidency strongly supports the development of ERA and the role of research in future by putting strong emphasis on ERA firmly rooted in society and answering societal demands and on the governance of the stakeholders of ERA.
