The project will examine the influence of border security issues on the situation at Russian borders with EU members (Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland) and on the EU-Russian relations on the whole.
The author would like to estimate the seriousness of border security challenges (drug-trafficking, illegal migration, smuggling in consumer goods, other kinds of transborder crime etc.) and adequacy of their perceptions by decision-makers and public opinion.
