The project examines how climate considerations shape governance in the European Union, focusing on maritime transport as a key area for decarbonization. It analyzes the roles of various institutional actors and the implementation of green policies, as well as their international diplomatic implications.
The objective of the research project titled Climatization of EU Policies:
The Case of Maritime Transport (EU-CLIMT) is to explore in what ways climatization influences EU governance and impacts the power of the institutional actors.
To do so, the case study of maritime transport will be employed, as it is one of the main policy areas indicated in the Fit for 55 package as crucial for the decarbonization of the European continent.
