This project analyzes the modernization of pre-colonial Morocco through the experiences of students who studied in Europe between 1873 and 1912. It examines their educational backgrounds, the impact of their training, and their contributions to Moroccan nationalism and anti-colonial movements.
The proposed project will analyze the scientific and social modernization of pre-colonial Morocco resulting from the circulation of young medical, scientific and engineering students in Europe in the period 1873-1912.
This general aim will be achieved by:
