This project focuses on developing small molecule mimetics of neurotrophins to treat neurodegenerative diseases. By improving pharmacokinetic properties, these mimetics aim to enhance neuroprotection and promote neurogenesis, paving the way for new therapies in this critical health domain.
Neurodegenerative diseases (ND) like AD, PD, MS and ALS/MND are on the rise in developed societies worldwide.
Currently, there exists no cure for any ND, and most of the available drugs fail to tackle ND pathogenesis.
