This project focuses on understanding the evolution of Escherichia coli, a significant pathogen, by analyzing genetic changes in a large cohort of healthy individuals. It aims to uncover the drivers of antibiotic resistance and virulence in this bacterium to inform better management strategies for infectious diseases.
Understanding the rapid adaptation of infectious pathogens is crucial to design better management policies and anticipate future changes.
