This project examines the relationship between extremist groups and the public in Great Britain and Germany. It aims to understand the psychosocial factors that contribute to extremism and develop strategies to counteract threats to democracy.
This project will focus on an international comparison of the interaction of extremist groups with the general public, an area where very little research has been done despite the ambitious European targets related to the intervention of and prevention of extremism.
Due to the rise of Islamist and right-wing extremism in European countries, interventions are needed urgently.
