This project investigates the role of histone modifications at enhancer sequences during stem cell differentiation in developing limbs. By using transgenic mice, it aims to clarify how these modifications influence gene transcription and contribute to our understanding of chromatin's role in regulating gene expression.
In multicellular organisms, during embryogenesis and tissue homeostasis the differentiation of pluripotent stem cells into a variety of specialized cell types is governed by diverse transcriptional programs, the establishment and maintenance of which rely on epigenetic mechanisms, such as chromatin modifications.
