This project investigates the role of adipose tissue as a reservoir for the Trypanosoma brucei parasite in African sleeping sickness. It aims to uncover how the parasite adapts to fat tissue and its implications for disease progression and host health.

The study of protozoan pathogens has been extensively explored often motivated to find suitable targets for new intervention strategies.
