The FERNS Doctoral Network trains researchers to integrate circular economy principles into electronics design, addressing e-waste and resource depletion. The project focuses on eco-design, sustainable materials, and societal acceptance in electronic product development across various application areas.
The FERNS Doctoral Network will train a talented cohort of 15 Doctoral Researchers (DRs) to embed circular approaches into electronics design in support of the mutual reinforcement of the EU’s Green and Digital transition ambitions.
The generation of e-waste and depletion of critical raw materials associated to the intensive use of electronics call for urgent interventions to embed circularity into future electronic products.
