The FINDER project aims to develop new antiviral drugs targeting the dengue virus by disrupting critical protein interactions. It focuses on identifying potential inhibitors through computational screening and optimizing lead compounds for future clinical evaluation.
Dengue virus (DENV) is the most prevalent arthropod-borne viral pathogen and infects about 400 million people worldwideevery year, causing epidemics that are spreading rapidly, with increased frequency and magnitude.
To date, no specifictreatments or a fully protective vaccine are available for dengue.
In line with the Priority 3 of H2020, the development ofeffective therapeutic strategies against DENV is urgently needed.
