This project investigates clonally transmissible cancers in marine bivalves, specifically focusing on hemic neoplasia in cockles. It aims to identify genetic drivers of cancer transmissibility and understand the evolution of these cancers in marine environments.
Clonally transmissible cancers are somatic cell lineages that are transmitted between individuals via the transfer of living cancer cells.
