The FIRMS project investigates how workplaces influence career trajectories and contribute to economic inequality. By analyzing the dynamics of firms, it aims to understand the lasting effects of workplace environments on wages and job positions, particularly concerning gender and ethnicity.
Over the past decades, economic inequality has increased in most societies, threatening social cohesion and limiting opportunities for many.
Recent studies highlight the workplace—or firm—as a core arena where this inequality is generated.
