This project investigates the behavior of disordered materials, such as foams and glasses, under shear forces. It aims to develop a theoretical framework that connects microscopic molecular dynamics to macroscopic models of plasticity, enhancing understanding and practical applications in engineering.
Although disordered media are ubiquitous in everyday life in form of emulsions, pastes, granular materials, foams and metallic glasses, there is still little known about a possible macroscopic description of such type of materials.
