Summary

FoAM-BUILD focuses on developing advanced insulation systems for buildings, incorporating lightweight nano-cellular foams and smart moisture control technologies. The project aims to improve energy efficiency and extend the lifespan of building façades through innovative materials and monitoring systems.

Objective

FoAM-BUILD will develop next generation External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) for new builds and retrofitting applications.

This comprises innovations in:1) Insulation material: development of new, lightweight and highly insulating nano-cellular foams, with a 50% reduction in thermal conductivity compared to conventional insulation elements.
