This project explores how diet influences brown adipose tissue function and its role in energy expenditure, particularly in relation to obesity. It aims to understand the interaction between food intake and gut hormones in regulating thermogenesis.
The last five decades have been characterized by an increase in obesity and cardiometabolic diseases.
Recent predictions indicate that more than 1 billion people will be obese by 2030 worldwide.
