FoodSafeR develops a proactive food safety management system to address emerging biological and chemical hazards in the European food supply. It integrates various tools and strategies to enhance risk assessment and management, ultimately aiming to improve food safety and sustainability.
In Europe, each year foodborne hazards, including bacteria, parasites, bacterial toxins and allergens, already cause more than 20 million cases of illness and thousands of deaths.
