The FOX-C project focuses on developing flexible optical networking technologies that allow for efficient data transport with variable bandwidth. It aims to create a prototype of flexible multiplexers and cross-connects, enabling adaptive routing of high-capacity data channels in next-generation networks.
Flexible optical networking is widely proposed today by major vendors and operators as the solution that offers smooth system upgradability towards Tb/s capacities and optimized use of network resources.
