The FRICTIONS project explores how tourism interacts with the legacies of slavery and colonialism. It aims to understand the narratives created around these histories and their impact on societal issues like racism and inclusion in diverse communities.
Tourism is a pervasive phenomenon as are the contemporary global dialogues about slavery and colonial heritage.
Globally, the tangible and intangible remnants of slavery and the colonial past generate tensions that can yield both productive and destructive outcomes.
