This project investigates the mechanisms of neurotransmitter release at retinal synapses, focusing on the processes of vesicle fusion and retrieval. Using genetically modified zebrafish and advanced microscopy techniques, it aims to clarify the roles of fast and slow endocytosis in synaptic activity.
The mechanism of neurotransmitter release is a fundamental aspect of nervous system function, but it is still highly controversial.
