This project investigates the fundamental nature of black holes by exploring their microstates, aiming to clarify whether event horizons are intrinsic or emergent features. It employs various research methods to analyze the properties of black holes within the framework of string theory.
Black holes provide an ideal testing ground for any theory of quantum gravity, a unified framework that combines General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics.
