FUNKIFIBRE focuses on converting cereal waste into microfibrillated cellulose, a strong and lightweight material for developing biodegradable plastic composites. The project aims to enhance packaging solutions by improving mechanical properties while addressing environmental waste issues.
Cereal waste biomass is a potential source of valuable compounds such as bio-based fibres that can be used in new potential applications.
