The GAP project aims to control axon navigation in the central nervous system by engineering neurons with magnetic switches. This technology seeks to guide axon growth and reinnervation, potentially addressing challenges in neural repair after injury.
Axon navigation is guided by spatial patterns of chemical and physical cues in the developing brain.
