This project explores the rapid evolution of cichlid fish in isolated ponds, particularly in Mexico. It aims to study the reproductive isolation and speciation mechanisms using genetic and ecological methods.
Cichlid fish are among the most spectacular examples of rapid speciation and adaptive radiation, which makes them an excellent model system for the study of mechanisms of speciation and evolution.
