This project investigates how enhancers regulate gene expression across distances in the genome. By analyzing enhancer synergy and its effects on target genes, it aims to deepen the understanding of gene regulation mechanisms.
Enhancers are the central regulators of temporal and spatial gene expression patterns, but how enhancers control their target genes from vast distances remains enigmatic.
Individual enhancers do not work in isolation but are embedded into the genomic context, often together with other enhancer elements.
The synergy arising from multiple enhancers can activate a target gene across distances that the individual elements cannot bridge.
