This research examines the role of gender in humanitarian aid directed at children in Europe from 1980 to 2007, focusing on the relationship between France and Romania. It aims to analyze stakeholders, motivations, and the impact of aid interventions while addressing sensitive issues such as human trafficking.
The main objective of this project is to examine the extent to which “gender”, as category of analysis, can be a useful tool in explaining the nature and the impact of humanitarian aid of western organizations towards children in Europe, between 1980 and 2007, using as case study the relation France (initiator)-Romania (beneficiary).
