This project investigates how societies have dealt with the aftermath of mass violence, focusing on the treatment and significance of corpses. By examining various cultural and legal perspectives, it aims to enhance understanding of the social legacy of genocide and mass destruction.
In Europe and all over the world, genocide and mass violence have been a structural feature of the 20th century.
This project aims at questioning the social legacy of mass violence by studying how different societies have coped with the first consequence of mass destruction: the mass production of cadavers.
