This project examines the process of financialization in post-socialist societies in East-Central Europe. It aims to understand how states, banks, and households have been integrated into financial systems and the implications of this integration for social and economic structures.
Financialisation, or the growing power of finance over societies and economies, is increasingly recognised as the key feature of contemporary capitalism.
However, significant gaps in our understanding of this process remain.
