GOLDEN-ICE focuses on enhancing winter road safety by optimizing salt spreading techniques for de-icing. Utilizing EGNOS technology, the project aims to develop advanced control systems for professional vehicles, improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact during heavy snow events.
GOLDEN-ICE aims at exploiting the EGNOS innovations in the field of winter services equipments (professional trucks and vehicles) with the objective to introduce advanced concepts in relation to salt spreading control, road safety and emergency.
More specifically the goal of the project is to improve the de-icing strategy currently employed by highways management and municipal departments.
