This project investigates a novel approach to cancer therapy by targeting a specific immune checkpoint receptor-ligand interaction. By blocking this interaction, it aims to enhance T cell activity against tumors, potentially improving treatment options for cancer patients.
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized cancer therapy over the last decade.
In essence, ICIs block the interaction of immunosuppressive receptors and their ligands, which attenuate T cell activity and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
