The 'Tackling the Gradient' project aims to reduce health inequalities in families and children by identifying effective interventions. It focuses on early life policies and social factors that influence health outcomes, seeking to develop strategies that can be implemented across Europe.
Health inequalities are currently regarded as one of the most important public health challenges in the EU.
There is however not sufficient knowledge of what actions are effective to reduce the gradient in health inequalities. 'Tackling the Gradient' aims to address this, to ensure that political momentum is maintained and that operational strategies can be developed to make progress on this issue.
