GRAIL-2 aims to develop and validate a Global Navigation Satellite System-based European Train Control System prototype for low-density railway lines. The project focuses on achieving absolute train positioning and integrity, which could reduce reliance on trackside equipment and improve freight transport efficiency.
The objective of GRAIL-2 is to develop and validate a GNSS based ETCS prototype/application in Rail Low Density Lines.
