GRAPHIL investigates the interactions between ionic liquids and graphene to understand their interface at the nanoscale. This research aims to enhance energy storage technologies by exploring how ionic liquids affect the electronic properties of graphene.
GRAPHIL aims at generating a detailed picture of the lateral nanostructure of the ionic liquid (IL)-graphene interface. A special focus will be given to the understanding of the IL-graphene interactions that generate the interfacial structure and to the influence of IL on graphene electronic structure.
