GreenFrontier investigates how strict nature protection influences human-environment relations in Europe's marginal areas. By combining anthropology, history, and politics, it explores the socio-environmental impacts of the EU's green growth vision in regions like the Southern Carpathians and Central Apennines.
GreenFrontier will radically transform understandings of how strict protection of nature remakes human-environment relations in Europe’s marginal areas by developing a novel field of inquiry - political ecology of conservation frontiers.
