The GREENWATCH project examines the ethical implications of using the Internet of Things for monitoring environmental impacts. It explores how surveillance of ecosystems and human activities can facilitate a sustainable future while addressing concerns about privacy and social justice across different global regions.
The emerging Internet of Things (IoT) constitutes a communication system that enables comprehensive and continuous monitoring of the effects of human activity on Earth’s ecosystems, thus potentially facilitating the green transition to sustainable forms of social life.
