The project addresses the need for energy-efficient optical networks by developing advanced technologies that enhance communication capacity while reducing power consumption. It combines expertise in fiber optics, modulation techniques, and digital signal processing to innovate in high-speed communication systems.
At present, there is a large demand for green optical networks, viz. backbone optical networks with an increased optical fibre capacity and transmission distance at low operating cost and reduced power consumption.
