The HANDSOME project focuses on enhancing education about crystal growth processes in materials science. It aims to develop a hands-on educational setup, EduCrys, to demonstrate crystal growth using low-cost components, making advanced knowledge accessible to schools and universities.
Crystalline materials are indispensable to modern life, and the development of crystal growth processes for novel materials remains an important challenge in materials science and engineering.
However, the knowledge about these processes is limited to very select, specialist communities.
