This project focuses on developing advanced manufacturing technologies for heat treating lightweight aluminum components. It aims to improve the strength and reduce the weight of parts used in the automotive industry, while also lowering carbon emissions.
Advanced manufacturing technologies are needed in order to facilitate the production of high performance light weight aluminium components. HPDC is highly productive process but the conventional heat treatment technology cannot be applied due to the formation of blisters of entrapped gas.
