HARMONISE aims to enhance the security and resilience of large urban infrastructure in response to increasing threats. The project will develop an integrated information platform and innovative tools to improve urban design and address security challenges.
For the first time, more than 50% of the world's population live in urban areas.
By 2050, c. 70% of people are likely to be city dwellers, compared with less than 30% in 1950.
This trend brings with it increased security and safety threats in urban areas, not least to urban built infrastructure.
