This project aims to develop a hybrid imaging technique for more accurate measurement of brain oxygen metabolism. By combining different optical imaging methods, it seeks to improve the understanding of brain health and dysfunction, particularly in conditions like stroke and dyspraxia.
Functional neuroimaging is important for understanding brain health, assessing pathologies and guiding therapeutic interventions.
Fundamental to neuroimaging is the neurovascular unit (NVU) which relates delivery and consumption of oxygen to neuronal activity.
