The HEAD-P project focuses on deprescribing, aiming to reduce unnecessary medications and associated risks. It investigates adverse drug withdrawal events through systematic reviews, data analysis, and interviews to enhance pharmacovigilance practices and improve patient safety in healthcare systems.
Deprescribing (reducing or stopping unnecessary or harmful medications) is an important strategy to reduce the risk of medication harm – a significant and growing challenge for health systems as acknowledged by the World Health Organization.
