The HELMETH project aims to develop an efficient Power-to-Gas technology that converts renewable electricity into methane using high-temperature electrolysis and methanation. This process enables energy storage compatible with existing gas infrastructure, enhancing the feasibility of renewable energy solutions.
The objective of the HELMETH project is the proof of concept of a highly efficient Power-to-Gas (P2G) technology with methane as a chemical storage and by thermally integrating high temperature electrolysis (SOEC technology) with methanation.
