This project aims to establish the role of the RSK2 gene as a tumor suppressor in liver cancer. It will utilize advanced genetic techniques to model the effects of RSK2 mutations and their impact on cancer development.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) ranks third in cancer mortality worldwide.
In spite of this, effective treatment options are limited, partly due to a poor understanding of the molecular basis of HCC, which hampers development of targeted therapies.
