This project investigates the unique structure and composition of narwhal tusks using advanced 3D X-ray imaging techniques. By analyzing the tusk's hierarchical organization at multiple scales, the research aims to enhance understanding of biological materials and develop new methodologies for their characterization.
Narwhals are mysterious animals that have fascinated humankind since ancient times.
They are known for their unique spiralled tusks, which made people believe in the existence of unicorns for centuries.
