This project investigates the role of natural killer cells in individuals who can control HIV without ongoing treatment. It aims to understand how genetic factors influence these immune responses and the potential for developing new therapies for HIV remission.
Antiretroviral therapy (ART) blocks HIV replication but cannot eliminate viral reservoirs that originate viral rebound if ART is discontinued.
