The HiDDyn-AF project focuses on atrial fibrillation, aiming to enhance personalized treatment through a novel model of left atrial flow. By integrating advanced imaging and computational techniques, it seeks to improve understanding of heart dynamics and the effects of ablation therapy in patients.
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is characterized by disorganized atrial electrical activation leading to a rapid and irregular heart rate.
Incidence rates are rising to epidemic levels with aging populations. AF disrupts left atrium (LA) fluid dynamics, increasing the risk of stroke and catheter ablation seeks to restore sinus rhythm.
We aim to develop of personalised risk stratification in AF patients, begin to optimise ablation treatment and generate novel findings about the pathophysiology of AF.
