HoliSoils aims to enhance understanding and management of forest soil processes through a harmonised monitoring framework. It integrates data and models to support climate action and ecosystem service sustainability, involving collaboration among researchers and stakeholders across Europe.
Knowledge gaps on forest soil processes and lack of a harmonised soil monitoring limit the EU’s ability to maintain soil related ecosystem services and to reach climate policy targets.
